Yeah. But, Why?

THE STORY OF SOCKPUPPET

For many people, websites are gigantic hellholes of popups, advertisements, and annoying audio that play without consent, amongst many other things. Browsing the web no longer feels like casually cruising the global data highway while enjoying the view, it feels more like carefully navigating a violent, dangerous, and criminal neighbourhood in an unarmoured vehicle.

Many people just want to opt-out. Leave the web and the digital world for good. But in a digital world, where participation is mandatory, opt-out often means nothing less than a total disconnect from everything and everyone. It’s unrealistic, and in many parts ends up being inhumane. The digital world has taken you hostage in many areas.

You are often told to believe that app fatigue and digital burnout are enitrely your fault, a lack of self discipline. You're told it's not the programmers’ or the corporations’ fault, but it’s yours. The very same people that claim to only have your best interest in mind, put the blame on you when it turns out that they don’t.

I’m a realistic optimist, and I think there’s always a way out of any vicious circle. As a programmer myself, I know what the root cause of it is. It’s something between hastily built software by amateurs, pressured or burnt out programmers, or greed. You won’t be able to change it, at least not on a large scale. But you can employ countermeasures, and that’s what Sockpuppet is.

As my sufferings mounted I soon realized that there were two ways in which I could respond to my situation βΈΊ either to react with bitterness or seek to transform the suffering into a creative force. I decided to follow the latter course.

Operating agents, or bots, especially with AI, is costly. It requires cloud infrastructure, technical knowledge and programming skills. It wasn’t anything you could just do on your sofa, let alone on the go. That’s what Sockpuppet changed, with the power of Apple Intelligence.

Sockpuppet is on a mission to make it as easy as possible to send AI agents to websites, with the easiest and fastest way to instruct and train them. Popups, banners, ads and all these painful annoyances can’t do them any harm on their mission, Sockpuppets are immune.

At first glance, it looks like a simple browser automation software powered by AI, and it actually is. But when using Sockpuppet’s deep integration with Shortcuts, it unleashes the power of Agentic AI locally on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. No cloud, no servers, and no data centers involved.

Sockpuppet is your most private digital bodyguard, assistant, guide, and some much more. All while you maintain full transparent control over it, on your device.

That’s why 2029 won’t be like 2029.
